Rev. Todd Pick

Biography

Todd Pick is an ordained Elder in The United Methodist. He currently serves two small churches deep in the heart of Texas. With a decade of experience serving churches of all sizes and working at the juridical level in church revitalization, he has learned that God is always doing a new thing! He has witnessed the transformation of many local churches through ministries of teaching, preaching, art-making, consulting and coaching.

Todd is passionate about worship that engages all our senses. Recruited to the General Conference Worship Design Team, he created liturgy and visuals for General Conference in 2012 and 2016.  His artwork was chosen for the cover of The Upper Room devotional, 60 Days of Prayer for General Conference 2016. Blessed to have a partner in life and in ministry, Todd and Rev. Jennifer Pick have served on similar design teams, leading worship conferences, retreats and workshops across the Methodist Connection. Todd has also been invited by Marcia McFee to be a presenter at various retreats and a featured expert on podcasts for her Worship Design Studio. Todd and Jenn are both active members of The Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts (FUMMWA) and will lead a week of worship at the 2019 National Convocation in Kansas City. He has served on design teams for convocations in 2009 and 2015. Todd is also a contributor to The Fellowship magazine, Worship Arts

Todd is also passionate about developing leaders who can ask powerful questions, assess congregational vitality, and lead processes of change and transformation. As Director of Congregational Vitality for the Central Texas Conference from 2014-2017, he assisted congregations in articulating who they are, why they exist, and the uniqueness of their mission field. Overseeing the Healthy Church Initiative, he helped more than 35 churches more fully discern God’s possibilities for the future.

Before moving to Texas in 2014, Todd and Jenn served as co-pastors of a newly formed cooperative parish in the Hudson Valley region of New York.

Todd holds a Master of Divinity from Drew Theological School in Madison, New Jersey, where he was artist-in-residence from 2007-2009. He was twice awarded the Hoyt L. Hickman/Order of Saint Luke Award for Liturgical Studies. In 2013, he had the honor or returning to Drew as adjunct faculty to teach a course entitled “Imago Christi: Worship and Visual Arts.” Graduating from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts, Todd worked in advertising and communications before entering the ministry.

Todd is married to Jenn Pick, Pastor of First Mexia UMC, and they have an active four-year-old son who helps them see the world with eyes of wonder and joy. Todd is a cradle United Methodist whose parents were both music ministers and active lay persons. Some of his earliest memories are of crawling, singing and praying in the church choir loft. He is grateful to the people called Methodist throughout his life who have taught him the meaning of grace and what it means to be a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
